Tho' before you cold I lay,

Let it not be a futile end,

For far above the work self-done

Is the knowledge of Victory won!

Yet while the heart still bleeds in sorrow

Forgive those who gasp in fear tomorrow

Reach out the hands to them 'fore said

The Drover's Horse

One day as I was travelling along

The highway stretched away so long,

SoI stopped the car to take a walk

And as I did I chanced upon

The bleached white bones of some old horse

His day of glory long since gone...
